Corner View: Coffee in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I feel honored to participate in this fun weekly corner-view project, hosted by Jane at Spain Daily. This week, the subject the coffee. I am perhaps not the best expert on coffee, because I drink it very infrequently these days. But for my research, I had a nice cuppa joe at my favorite local bakery.

West End bakery has a great ambiance, with a lounging area with toys for kids and magazines to browse, amazing baked goods and fresh, organic breads. They recycle, have a community board for posting information, and even have a small garden plot in the back. Now this is a great model for a coffee shop!

I love that I live in a place where organic, fair-trade coffee is the norm. While we do have Starbucks in town, the smaller local companies get my support. I tend to enjoy a cup when we go out for a Sunday breakfast, and drink tea at home.

I'm not a french roast girl; I prefer milder blends. I've been to West End before though and loved them. :)

You're doing a great job, I would support the smaller local companies as well!!
And what a nice pictures you have made - again- !
I drink organic coffee as well, with aniseed flavour. My kids love to drink that as well (it's this coffee made from grains (??)), but for a quick coffee use my machine.
Have a great day, XXX, Carmie.
