Imaginative Days

One of my favorite things is to see my children engaged in imaginative play. And it inspires me greatly! (And now you can see Mia's new haircut, too.) In this moment I can see how home education is working beautifully to free the social constraints that pressure kids to grow up in a hurry.

Vivi wears her finger knitted creations and Jasper is so very happy to have discovered a new favorite treat - frozen wild blueberries atop a crisp waffle. He has been really into making food lately, especially deviled eggs, apple pies and anything that he can top with Old Bay seasoning.

How I love to see the dolls getting out for a walk on a mild late autumn day!

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again. ~Elizabeth Lawrence

Very special. That's so funny about how your son looks Old Bay Seasoning on top of everything. How on earth did he discover that? My little boy likes frozen wild blueberries topped with cream for snack or dessert. The cream freezes instantly. I also love the soft pictures of your daughter and her dolls. Have a wonderful day. What sweet kids you have! I love that you are carrying the dolls in a carrier! My kids are obsessed with carrying their dolls in slings...what a good message to send to others!
Have a great day!

Your photos are so beautiful. I feel the same way about observing my children in imaginative play and seeing how homeschooling is slowing down and extending their childhood. I am so grateful for that!

My girls love home schooling and they are very innocent still, at 10and 13. I remember years ago they were playing Little House on the Prairie and they said, "Mom, we're old fashioned girls!" This came from them, not me.
