Ponies and Chocolate, that is what some girls dream of! Vivi is very much like me in this way. She has started horseback riding this summer and loves it. It has renewed my love for horses too and I hope to ride on occasion as well. I think this is Ziggy she is riding, isn't he pretty?

Ponies and Chocolate
Last Day of Kindergarten
Oh, so very sweet. Jasper's last day of Little Round Schoolhouse. This has been his second place to call home for the last two years and it has been so wonderful and nurturing for my boy. What a dear group of friends and the most wonderful Kindy teachers you can imagine. Really, really amazing. We will miss it but now we are home schooling grade one with Jasper. He has been so excited to have his turn with school at home and I am so thrilled to share this with him! I have been busy planning and will soon be preparing a very special classroom space.
Jaspie being funny and pretending to eat his flowers. His friends think he's pretty hilarious. He sure loves that!

Make new friends,
But keep the old.
One is silver,
And the other, gold.
A circle's round
It has no end
That's how long
I'm gonna be your friend.
But keep the old.

And the other, gold.

It has no end
That's how long
I'm gonna be your friend.

Summer Love
I just found this sweet beach photo of Vivienne when she was a toddler. What a cutie. Time to be living in the moment and enjoying the expansiveness and freedom that summer provides.
Happy Summer!

Paris - The Mother-Daughter Trip - Day One
First day in Paris. We had a red eye flight over the Atlantic. Arrived at Charles-deGaulle airport and took a RER to the Marais area of Paris. It was a long journey for us. We walked probably a mile past our destination, in an awestruck and jet lagged stupor! After we found our apartment and met the lovely couple who hosted us, through Alcove and Agapes, a private bed-and-breakfast agency. We were tired to the core, but I managed enough french to say hello and get settled. We headed out for a walk and found our way to the Notre Dame. What a spectacular city! After 22 years since seeing Paris, it was really something to refresh my recollections of it.
And just in time to see the Seine at sunset.
Back to our neighborhood and we found dinner at an Italian deli around the corner. (Yes, it was Italian, but nonetheless, very authentic and delicious!) It was nice to have a little private balcony off our fifth floor room. We ate a lot of meals there!
That's it for Day one. I will continue to post more adventures in Paris soon. à bientôt!

Spring is Near
It is really something with the temperatures nearing the eighties. Flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing. How spring has sneaked up on me! We didn't get much of a winter this year, which is why I am so surprised by the shift. Vivi made me this sweet little posy a week or so ago. And today the kids spend the afternoon picking violets so they can make candied violets. After that, they played in the mud and were covered from head to toe! My tulips and daffodils are blooming and bringing such good cheer. I love the signs of spring.
Vivi constructed a doll house last weekend. She had a really fun time designing it. The roof even hinges open to get into the room and the walls are wallpapered. I love her joy in creating something from the recycling bin.
I also must share this link to my boy's music making fun. He loves to play instruments and especially to drum. You can see the music maker here. Other music videos to come, the kids all like to perform their songs for an audience.
I also must share these beautiful photos taken by my friend, Ines! There is a tame deer in her neighborhood that was orphaned, some folks decide to feed him and look after him. He is a real character and very sweet but unfortunately will continue to grow bigger and bolder around people. He is getting his antler buds and is fond of eating garden flowers. I hope that they find a home for this guy where he can return to the wild. My children love to visit this beautiful place in the woods which they call Fairyland. It is a magical place to be. Thank you, Ines for letting me share your lovely images!
Spring Blessings to all!
Land of Sky
I can't think of a more fitting title for the beautiful scene at Max Patch. It is really a stunning 360 degree view. We had a wonderful family hike last weekend. It was a good remind to do this more often!
Can't wait to go back when everything is green!
